Lots and Lots of Forget-Me-Nots...And a Quiz...

Hello there

If you're in the mood for something completely different today, you're in luck.

During the past few days I've been experimenting with drawing and painting forget-me-not floral motifs in various media. This has left me with lots and lots of images of forget-me-not flowers.

So, just for a change, I thought it might be fun to set a quiz. Participation is entirely optional, and totally  for the fun of it only. I'll give the answers in next week's newsletter post.

The image (A-D)

Each of the following sets of forget-me-not image motifs (labelled A-D below)  have been drawn and/or painted in a different way.

Your task is to match each lettered picture below, with its corresponding technique, numbered in the next section below.

Image B

Image D

The Technique Options (1-4)

1. Line and Wash Watercolour

2. Soft pastels from an eyeshadow palette

3. Acrylic paint pens

4. The digital equivalent of one of the techniques 1-3 in this list. (give yourself extra congrats for naming the technique too).

Finally...

Hope this is fun for you, and as I said, stay tuned for answers next week. (Update on Jan 29th 2026 -the answers are now at the bottom of  the post at this link).

Have a good one until then,

More soon.

Free June Rose Arch Illustration

Hello there, lovely people, and hope you are well, and thriving.

Can you believe that next week it will be *June* already?

A digital painting showing a hand-drawn arch of pink roses, and the word "June" written in white against the blue sky behind.
Free "June Rose Arch" Illustration by Clare Walker
Tap, right-click or click here (depending upon your device)
to download.

In anticipation of this, I have June's free jpg illustration ready for you, above.  It features a rose arch, with June in a blue sky, and plenty of room all-around to add your own text too, if you wish.

It's a digital pen and wash watercolour, hand drawn and digitally painted stroke-by-stroke in the wonderful Krita app/painting program.

As ever with my freebies here, it's your to use as you wish, as long as you don't actually sell the file as-is, or claim copyright (my full angel policy is here).

Just right-click, click or tap, (depending upon your device) to download this, and enjoy. (Credit and links back, if you use it, are *always* appreciated, but never required. If you do use it, let me know where it is, if you'd like. I love to see my stuff in use "out in the wild," and can sometimes help you to promote your projects and items too).

And there's more...

If you like the arch and want more, and/or are feeling weddingy/in need of a wedding card, then this arch also has you covered, in the form of an arch-shaped printable wedding card to buy here, and optional inserts for it here.

In any event, thanks for having a read of this, and if you're reading it as it's published, happy weekend!

Day 43: A New Geranium *Digital* Painting This Time

For Day 42, I redid the geraniums in a digital format, (using the little-publicised but very good Fresh paint app) and the result was some lovely, lively florals that make a gorgeous pattern. Take a look...

First at the painting...

And how nice this looks when applied to all sorts of goodies now for sale at my Redbubble shop
