Spring Is On Its Way...

Digital line and wash watercolour sketch of whimsical pink late winter blossom poking into a blue sky, and the words, "Spring is on its way
Spring Is on Its Way...

Hello there, and in a change to the usual schedule, am sending this so that you get it on a Monday (a temporary thing, unless you like it better, in which case I could always change things around...).

Anyway, thought you might like to see this little digital watercolour sketch, inspired by the very first finger of pink winter blossom, poking its way into the sky from a neighbour's garden, that I spotted a few days ago.

It felt like the branch was saying, "Keep on going...Spring, is on its way...".

And so, this illustration was born.

Now, we all know there's plenty of time for Spring to take, shall we say, a little detour. But I hope that even the promise of it (or beautiful autumn, in the Southern Hemisphere) gives you a lovely start to your week.

Thanks so much for being here.

More soon.

Hello there

How is the new year going for you?

In the midst of all the frantic goal setting I was trying to do, over here have suddenly realised a wild truth...It's OK to go slowly.

More than OK, actually, as by some strange alchemy of the universe, it seems actually to make ideas come together faster, and more accurately.

Who knew. Well, maybe everyone except me, to whom it has been a total revelation, in the midst of the attempted rebuild of everything to do with BoundingSquirrel. So I created this cute sea turtle more as a "note to self", as well a piece that maybe others might resonate.

A Google search suggests a sea turtle's preferred speed doesn't go much above 5 miles an hour (depending on the current, and/or surrounding dangers).

And yet these same creatures cover long distances, eventually. So that's the calm, steady energy am aiming for with the rebuild.

About that re-build

On the rebuild, there's good news and bad news.

-The good news is that I do now have a solid plan. (Cue cheering and sighs of relief all round).

-The bad news is that it's probably going to take most, if not all,  of 2024 to get it exactly as I'm dreaming about it for you.

(And there was me, trying to get it all done in a fortnight :-). Duh.... ).

Soooo...

As a big part of the plan still involves sharing happy art on a regular basis, how about, just for now,  I carry on doing that right here, and just switch things over  s  l  o  w  l  y and calmly...even one at a time (what a concept :-) ), telling you about them as I go?

Well, that's the plan :-). And the calm but determined not on which I'll wish you a lovely weekend.

Hello there, and hope the year is treating you well so far.

Here, I am still re-orientating the site, but it's taking longer than I thought it might.

Sooo, thought it was also time to say hello, and to offer you a little something to combat any January blues. Feel free to download this image, (as ever, my usage/angel policy is here, and wide-ranging).

The artwork for the fish was completed in the wonderful new Rebelle 7 app (no, am not affiliated, but am just the happy recipient of it as a lovely Christmas gift).

(If you'd rather see these happy fish on ready-made items, they are also here).

These happy fish are available on shower curtains
and more at Redbubble.Com

Otherwise, there may be some radio silence here for a few more weeks as I finalise everything, but there will be...

More as soon as possible.
