Merry Christmas Holly-And Some Embarrassment...

Merry Christmas spelled out in hand drawn and painted holly letters, complete with a robin and snow.

Hello there, and yes, for those who are ready for all things festive, this is my latest design. It's fun, whimsical and festive, without being (I hope) too "cheesy".

If you haven't heard from me for some time, though, my most enormous apologies. As you can see from posts like this one, and this one, I have been posting...but...the posts haven't been getting to you...Which is something I only knew for certain this afternoon, and have done my best to fix.

So, if you're reading this, yay (!), and thank you.

It also means that I'm humungously late in doing anything like inviting you to see all the yummy things you *might* like to purchase either as quirky gifts like this one, or with a more full-on Christmas flavour...

As luck would have it, as I type, there are still deals at Redbubble, and good fast shipping on offer too. But I genuinely don't know how long this will last. (And that's not a whiff of "false urgency,"...I really don't know how long they can keep that going at this (now late, as discussed) time of year).

Anyway...In other news, I've been experimenting with using animated gifs, like the one above, to show you lots of ideas in one go.

With this design for example, you're covered for popular gifts like mugs or socks, but also if you'd like to make your home look festive (but still with a smart pattern) or turn up at an event looking suitably "Christmassy" (but again, with a smart and yes-I-can-wear-this-and-still-love-it", type pattern).

And with that said, am off to find a more permanent solution to the email issue. With luck, I might actually be able to tell whether other people can read this or not... :-).

Am anticipating that I'll be posting again before Christmas, (with ecards, printables and other more last-minute goodies)  and then introducing a shiny, new and better system early next year.

Thank you and please bear with me...

But if it doesn't quite go like that, please know that I love your being here, am thankful for it, and want to send you the best posts I can, in the best way possible.

And whether you celebrate or not, hope that the next few weeks are wonderful for you.

More soon(ish).

Christmas Berries: New Collection and Free Printable Background (Day 30)

Hello again, and hope that life is treating you well wherever it finds you.

It's Day 30 of my crazy challenge, and today, I have the story of a pattern, a new collection and a free background for you.

The story starts a few days ago, when The Computer Man prised me away from the desk and we spotted these rather lovely berries...(This is part of one of his photos, so many thanks there too).

The berries burned their way into my brain in the best possible way, and I eventually drew them as the feature motif in what is (I think) my first Christmas pattern of the year...

Lovely things with this pattern on are available in my Redbubble shop here...

and on fabric here.

And now, as promised, for that free Christmas berry printable. As usual, you can use it in line with my "Angel Policy", and just right click or tap to save.

If you like this, please do feel free to share it via the grey buttons at the bottom of the post.

That's all for today.

More tomorrow...

Christmas in July and August...

I'm up to my old seasonally-inappropriate tricks again. Yes, in the warm and welcome heat of this July (and now August) in London,  I've given in to the gentle nags in Zazzle's newsletter...and have been producing Christmas designs!

Digital watercolour and glitter "Merry Christmas," bauble and fir branch (painted in Artrage 4)
So, I thought I'd post them as some work-in-process (not all are finished or uploaded yet).

All were made in Artrage 4 first.

This "Noel" repeating pattern started in ArtRage 4.

I used the "stencil" tool to create a "Noel" in "Brock Script" font, and then added red digital glitter to one of them. (I'm still getting over how wonderful even the idea of mess-free digital glitter can be).

Then, in Patternshop, having rotated the images, I first of all thought the glitter edges looked too messy. So I got rid of them. And then, they looked too "neat".

So the glitter edges, that make it look that bit more hand-printed have stayed in this version of the pattern...so far. (Update: This design will stay as it is. It was my first Christmas 2014 sale on Zazzle-in August :-) Many thanks to the buyer!)

Portable mistletoe

At the moment, the idea I've had most fun with is portable mistletoe. By adding a watercolour sprig of it to various items, there'll always be mistletoe around when you need it this Christmas, on designs like this one...

Don't know about you, but that's enough Christmassy stuff for now. I'm off to enjoy some sunshine!
